A New Day for the Former Capstone Companies
January 1stof 2012 marked a new chapter for the student housing professionals of the former Capstone Companies (founded in 1990). On this date, the various student housing divisions of Capstone Companies were split into four separate business entities. The impetus for this action was the semi-retirement of Mike Mouron, the founder/president. The result was four separate, but closely aligned, revitalized student housing companies, led by veteran Capstone Companies personnel:
- Capstone Development Partners: Development of on-campus and near-campus urban student housing communities. Led by: Bruce McKee and Jeff Jones.
- Capstone On-Campus: Consulting and third-party management services for student housing communities owned by non-profits. Led by Doug Brown, Sandy Hill, Will Davenport, and Alton Irwin.
- Capstone Collegiate Communities: Development, construction, and management of off-campus student housing communities. Led by John Vawter, Rob Howland, and Ben Walker.
- Capstone Real Estate Investments: Acquisition and repositioning of strategically located, off-campus apartment properties. Led by Christopher Mouron, Drew Mouron, and Anderson Neighbors.
Focus
All four Capstone entities continue to focus on some aspect of student housing – either directly on a university campus or in the surrounding off-campus market.

Our market is nationwide, with a portfolio of experience extending from Washington State to New York.
